Andrew Gilbert wins another prestigious entrepreneur award

Andrew Gilbert has added to his growing awards collection by becoming Ernst & Young North and Midlands Young Entrepreneur of the Year.  The award, which is given to the most innovative, dynamic and successful young businessman or woman in the region, was presented to Andrew at a prestigious awards dinner in Manchester last night.

The award is the latest in a string of honours for the data centre specialists.  Andrew was also pronounced Entrepreneur of the Year 2011 at the European Data Centre Awards earlier this month, beating some stiff competition to receive the top prize.  This most recent award will see him progressing into the UK finals to be in London in October to battle against the leading contenders in the country.

Andrew said, “It’s always great when we’re recognised for the exceptional work we’re doing, especially when it’s from such an influential company as Ernst & Young. I am accepting the award on behalf of the entire team because the whole company has made an outstanding effort to contribute to the rapid growth of Node4.

“We’re excited about our plans for the future which include opening our fifth data centre based in Birmingham and a sixth is on the cards as well. This rate of growth is facilitated by cloud computing and data centre technology, which is evolving and will continue to do so as more businesses become aware of the benefits.”

Andrew has often been complimented on his foresight and ability to envision trends ahead of the curve.  His competitive edge stems from the execution of his strategy to provide his clients with a ‘data centres on the door step’ approach, and has secured him the crown of Britain’s largest independent provider of data centres.

With a turnover of £11m in a span of only seven years, Node4 is transforming the data centre market in Britain.  The company is quickly establishing itself as one of the frontrunners in the market, with a client list that includes a myriad of leading edge companies across the country.
