Node4 Charity Fundraising - What We've Been Up to in 2018

Head of Marketing at Node4

A quick update on what fundraising we've been taking part in this year.

At the start of 2018 we reflected on everything charitable we'd been up to the year before. Comic Relief, Macmillan's Coffee Morning and Christmas jumper day were just a few of the activities our employees across the country took part in. You can read more about 2017 here. So what was to come for 2018?

The main event so far this year has been our participation in the Dragon Boat Race that takes place at Nottingham's Riverside Festival. In the height of summer, 27 teams pit themselves against one another and race along the famous River Trent all in aid of Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. Our aptly named team of rowers, the "Managed Serpent Providers" got off to a cracking start making it all the way through to the semi-finals, where we were unfortunately beaten by a half-second knock out.

Despite the 'so close, yet so far' nature of the result, we had a great time and more importantly managed to raise a large sum for the brilliant charity.

"The Staff at Rainsbows Hospice work incredibly hard and make a big difference to the lives of so many people. We are proud to support the team at the hospice and are committed to be supporting such a great cause." Ketna Makwana, HR Manager at Node4.

Alongside the Dragon Boat Race, we've also taken part in a 10k run in Derby, delivered Easter eggs to local children's hospitals and donated for every response we had to our recent Customer Satisfaction Survey. So far we've raised £3845 to our charities, and only aim to increase that figure!
