Think Cloud Computing for Charities seminar

That’s why we recently partnered with the Charity Finance Group (CFG), a charity that champions best practice in finance management in the voluntary sector, to host our second joint Think Cloud Computing for Charities seminar.

Bringing together financial professionals from charities across the UK, the seminar focused on helping delegates understand the value that Cloud technologies can bring. Node4’s Peter Bodley-Scott, who has 16 years’ experience working with not-for-profit organisations, led the discussions, covering the critical aspects of Cloud Computing:

  • The types of Cloud models available
  • How to choose the right supplier
  • Understanding the challenges
  • Security and data protection in the Cloud
  • The benefits of migrating to the Cloud

Critically, delegates were able to hear first-hand how the Cloud has positively impacted the Trinitarian Bible Society (TBS), with David Broome, Resources Director, explaining the charity’s journey and the key drivers for adopting a Private Cloud infrastructure from Node4.

He highlighted how this approach has enabled TBS’s systems to be fully accessible to all personnel around the world, while driving significant cost savings by reducing onsite hardware and the associated support. The charity is now ideally placed to focus both funds and efforts on its charitable work rather than its IT infrastructure.

The seminar was followed by a networking reception, where charity professionals had the opportunity to discuss their views on Cloud Computing. Due to the positive feedback from attendees, Node4 has confirmed the third annual Cloud Computing event for 18th October 2016. More details will be made available on the Node4 events page in the coming months, where those interested in participating can book a place.

Node4 is working with organisations across the private, public and charitable sectors to drive down costs and improve business efficiencies though Cloud Computing. Visit our Information Centre to find out more.
